“We want to try one more Grammy, and we want to win an award” – BTS Suga

The group BTS expressed their desire to challenge the Grammys once again with ‘Permission to dance.’
BTS appeared on the SBS 8 O’clock News broadcast on the afternoon of July 24th.
Previously, BTS topped the Billboard’s main singles chart, Hot 100, for seven weeks in a row with their English single ‘Butter.’ Then, it followed by the new song ‘Permission to Dance’ taking over and climbing to the top one after another.
RM said, “Thank you to everyone who listened to the song and to the ARMYs.” Jin continued, “It is thanks to the fans and ARMYs that we were able to do such things. Thank you for listening to our music. We will work harder to repay you. I love you, ARMY.”
In the new song ‘Permission to Dance,’ they inserted the international sign language. So, it received favorable reviews around the world. The gestures that mean ‘fun,’ ‘dance,’ and ‘peace’ are present through sign language. There are many videos of deaf people dancing happily on social media. Also, it is said that BTS has contributed to ‘Barrier Free,’ a movement to break down physical, institutional and psychological barriers to create a better society for people with disabilities.
BTS J-Hope explained, “I did the choreography in the international sign language. With that, I also presented a music video and performance. I wanted to become the positive energy, comfort, and hope to many people around the world. So, I decided to use international sign language.” Then he smiled brightly, saying, “It’s very simple, and I made it easy for many people to follow. I think if you follow it, it will become a meaningful ‘Permission to Dance.’
In partnership with YouTube, they presented the ‘Permission to Dance’ challenge. Regarding this, BTS said, “We started because we want many people around the world to dance happily. There is the energy we get from communicating with the audience at performances. But, there was a lot of thirst due to the long-time COVID-19 pandemic. We want to quench this thirst by having fun with many people through it and give good positive hope and energy.”
Then, when the host said that ‘Permission to Dance’ was being compared to Michael Jackson’s ‘Heal the World,’ RM said, “‘Heal the World’ is a legendary song. We like it too. It’s an honor to ask this question itself. It’s nice,” he said modestly. Also, RM said, “There are many restrictions on my life as a person, and I was like, ‘Is it necessary to get permission to dance?’ I thought,” he said.
RM said, “The BTS team is a team that lives in the present. A team that has grown by focusing on what we have and the emotions we are feeling right now. Consolation may be vague, but this is the best sympathy and comfort we could give as singers. So, we tried to give the best possible comfort while making music, singing and dancing.”
Previously, BTS became a nominee for a Grammy Awards with their hit song ‘Dynamite.’
When asked if they had any intention of trying to win the Grammy again, BTS Suga answered honestly, “I still have the thought of trying one more time if possible. I want to win a Grammy Award.”
