Spotify,’ the world’s largest audio and music streaming platform, has launched a ‘What’s New’ notification function. It will inform users of the latest songs of artists they follow in real-time.
‘What’s New’ is a notification-type feed function that reflects users’ opinions who want to find the latest songs of artists they like. They will be able to follow more quickly and intuitively among the numerous contents in Spotify.
Spotify added more than 50,000 hours of audio and music content on average per day. Intuitive and quick service tailored to individual users is a significant factor in the audio streaming experience. ‘What’s New’ is not only a personalized music recommendation service. But, it also greatly reduces the time it takes to search for new songs. It allows users to enjoy a wide range of music and focus on discovering new artists.
If you click the bell icon at the top of the Spotify mobile app (iOS and Android) home screen, you will see the ‘What’s New’ feed. It is where you can check the latest songs by artists you follow. The feed is updated in real-time as soon as a new song is released. Also, when new music is released, a blue dot appears on the bell icon for easy identification. You can quickly check content on ‘What’s New’ by clicking the ‘Follow’ icon on the artist’s page.
If users want to check out more recent songs other than the artists they follow, they can recommend the latest songs through Release Radar. In fact, it is one of Spotify’s major algorithmic playlists. The new song radar, updated every Friday, recommends new music that matches the artists you follow and your taste in music.
A Spotify official said, “‘What’s New’ is the fastest and most convenient function to inform users of the latest songs from their favorite artists. It is for music fans worldwide who find joy and happiness through discovering new artists and music. So, we will continue to explore various ways to connect to music content faster and more intuitively.”
Spotify will launch ‘What’s New’ sequentially to users around the world. It includes Korea, starting on July 27th. Users can find this feature in the upper-right corner of the home screen.
