SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Junhui, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) will appear on famous Japanese music shows.
SEVENTEEN confirmed their appearance on ‘FNS Music Festival-Summer’ and TBS’ ‘Music Day 2021,’ which will air on July 14 and 17. Music fans worldwide are focussing on what kind of performance that SEVENTEEN will present on the shows.
This is SEVENTEEN’s third appearance on Fuji TV’s ‘FNS Music Festival.’
So, expectations are high as they received great acclaim for their performances on the ‘2020 FNS Music Festival-Summer,’ which aired in August last year, and the year-end music show ‘2020 FNS Music Festival.’
The Recording Industry Association of Japan recognized SEVENTEEN’s 8th mini-album ‘Your Choice’ as a platinum work. It has cumulative shipments of more than 250,000 copies as of June 2021. It is even more meaningful to receive platinum recognition as a Korean work rather than a Japanese original work.
SEVENTEEN was the only K-POP artist on Billboard Japan’s annual single sales chart with their second single, ‘Fallin’ Flower,’ released in April last year. SEVENTEEN’s Japan’s second mini-album ’24H’ topped the Oricon weekly album rankings for the first time as overseas male artists. In addition, they are one of the ‘Best 3 Albums’ in Japan’s Gold Disc Awards in the Asia Category.
In addition, it has surpassed 200,000 copies of its first three consecutive Japanese singles. It starts from their Japanese single ‘Happy Ending’ to the third Japanese single ‘Hitorijanai.’
They prove their solid presence and show off their popularity as much as local artists.
With their 8th mini-album ‘Your Choice,’ SEVENTEEN set another record for the Initial period sales of 1,364,127 copies sold. With a single album, they became a ‘million-seller’ for four consecutive works. It made them rise to the ranks of ‘quadruple million sellers’ and ranking first in Initial period sales for all artists in 2021.
Not only that, SEVENTEEN entered the US Billboard’s main album chart, ‘Billboard 200,’ for the first time at #15. Also, they topped the ‘Top Album Sales,’ ‘Top Current Album Sales,’ and ‘World Album’ charts.
Fuji TV’s ‘2021 FNS Music Festival-Summer’ featuring Seventeen will air from 6:30 pm on July 14th. Also, the TBS ‘Music Day 2021’ will air from 2 pm on July 17th.
