While member Wheein of girl group Mamamoo left her agency RBW, she expressed her feelings in a handwritten letter.
On June 12th, Wheein posted a picture on her Instagram along with the caption, “I will show you a good side as both Wheein and Mamamoo. Thank you for your support!”
The published photo shows Wheein telling fans her story with her own handwriting. Wheein said, “I’m ready to leave RBW, an agency that is like my hometown. It is where I spent ten years since I was a trainee crying, smiling, and slowly getting to where I am now, and move onto a new environment.”
She added, “Thank you, MooMoo (fandom), for being with me for the brightest seven years of my youth. I’ll work harder so that I can spend happier days with MooMoo and my members. I’ll also participate in many activities and repay you with good music!”
Then, Wheein added, “All four members of MAMAMOO will always be with you. I will keep your countless words of support, concern, and encouragement in my heart. I’ll live a wonderful and brave life in the future.”
On June 11th, RBW officially announced the termination of the exclusive contract with Wheein. RBW said, “Mamamoo’s Wheein has been in in-depth discussions with the members and the company for a long time. But in the end, we have decided not to renew the contract. So, the exclusive contract with the company is ending. We fully respect Wheein’s choice, and we sincerely hope that Wheein will always be happy and lucky.”
They also said, “Since all four of us have the same love for Mamamoo, Wheein and our company signed a contract for an amicable extension until December 2023. It is for some activities, including the production of Mamamoo’s new album and solo concert appearances.”

Hello, this is Mamamoo Wheein.
For sure MooMoo (fandom name) and many people who supported us heard the news from the official articles.
I’m ready to leave RBW, an agency that is like my hometown. It is where I spent ten years since I was a trainee crying, smiling, and slowly getting to where I am now and move onto a new environment.
It’s the first time I’ve encountered something like this in my life. So, it’s very unfamiliar and difficult. I feel many different emotions.
Thanks to RBW that worked hard with me for a long time. Because of their efforts, I was able to receive so much love. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the agency.
