ITZY released a new digital single, ‘MAFIA In The Morning’ (English Version), on May 14th at 1 pm. The song has been simultaneously released all over the world along with a Lyric video containing English lyrics.
Famous writers locally and abroad, including JYP Entertainment’s chief producer Jinyoung Park, LYRE, Earattack, KASS, Haesol Lee, and Danke, participated in the song. Singer and songwriter Sophiya also participated in completing the English lyrics. The Lyric video maximized the immersion of the song by adding English lyrics, conveying the confident message, “I will approach you with my hidden feelings and take away your loved one’s heart.”
The music video of the title track ‘MAFIA In The Morning’ of the mini-album ‘GUESS WHO’ released on the 30th of April reached 80 million views on YouTube around 6:45 pm on May 13th. Previously, the number of views exceeded 50 million views in three days and 70 million views in a week. It is showing the fastest increase in the number of views among ITZY’s all-time music videos. So, it is expected to achieve 100 million views in the shortest period of time.
ITZY has swept various charts both locally and abroad with its new album and the title song, making them the ‘fourth generation representative girl group.’ The album ranked 148th on the U.S. Billboard main chart, ‘Billboard 200,’ on May 15. Also, it ranked 99th on the ‘Artist 100,’ which comprehensively aggregates and ranks artists’ performance. This makes them entered two of the top three Billboard main charts. ITZY also showed their brilliant presence by ranking on charts in a total of 12 categories of Billboard. It includes the ‘World Album,’ ‘Current Album Sales’ and ‘Independent Album’ charts.
‘MAFIA In The Morning’ ranked 56th on the global top 200 chart of Spotify, a global music streaming platform. The song also topped the YouTube Music Global Top Song Chart (2021.04.30-05.06) with more than 62 million plays worldwide. In addition, ITZY swept the top YouTube music charts, including top song charts, top music video charts, and hot issue charts in Korea during the same period. They won first place on MBC M, MBC every1 ‘Show! Champion’ and Mnet ‘M Countdown’ on the 12th of May, for two consecutive weeks.
In the meantime, ITZY is planning to release their performance video on their official YouTube channel at 1 pm on May 15th and respond to the explosive support of the worldwide fans.
