The K-pop group fromis_9 revealed the pressure and determination they have as the only girl group under HYBE Label. On the afternoon of January 17, on the YouTube HYBE Label channel, fromis_9 (Saerom Lee, Hayoung Song, Gyuri Jang, Jiwon Park, Jisun Roh, Seoyeon Lee, Chaeyoung Lee, Nagyung Lee, Jiheon Baek) held an online media showcase for the release of ‘Midnight Guest.’
fromis_9 moved to Pledis Entertainment last year and became the only girl group of HYBE Labels. When asked if there was any pressure as a female artist representing HYBE, Saerom Lee said, “It comes as a pressure to have a big company name attached to it. I think it has become a driving force to imprint (the group) beyond the pressure of everyone. We will show you a better side as much as you help and support us.”
Hayoung Song said, “It’s already our second album (after the transfer),” and “(CEO Sungsoo Han) has been producing since our debut. But, now he seems to have changed his mind and support a wide range of other parts. We also have a growing desire to make a new start and try more,” she said.
K-pop group fromis_9‘s 4th mini-album “Midnight Guest,” set for release at 6 pm today, contains songs that surprise those having a boring night. The title song ‘DM’ is a pop genre song that features a sentimental chord progression and a funky baseline. You can feel the lovely sensibility of fromis_9, and the cool chorus part is impressive.
