
Top K-pop group BTS (RM, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook) member V, who sang the SBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Our Beloved Summer’ OST ‘Christmas Tree,’ first entered #29 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart.
According to the latest chart released on January 19 (KST), BTS V’s ‘Christmas Tree’ ranked 29th on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart.
With this, ‘Christmas Tree’ broke the debut highest ranking on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart for Korean male solo singers after Psy.
Also, ‘Christmas Tree’ ranked 4th on the Billboard Japan Download Songs chart on the same day.
‘Christmas Tree,’ released worldwide on December 24, 2021, entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart on January 8, 2022. It entered at #79 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Since then, it has been successful in the Hot 100 chart.
‘Christmas Tree’ is an impressive song with V’s low and sweet voice on a soft acoustic guitar melody. This song first appeared on vinyl in the studio of Woong (Wooshik Choi) in the first episode of ‘Our Beloved Summer.’
As soon as the OST played on the drama, inquiries flooded in about its official release. This song, inserted a lot in the main melodrama scenes of Woong and Yeonsoo (Dami Kim), played an important role in the play. It raised the mood and emotional line of the drama.
Music director Hyeseung Nam worked on ‘Christmas Tree’ with BTS V in mind from the planning stage. Then, musician Kyunghee Kim, who worked with hit drama OSTs such as ‘Crash Landing on You’ and ‘Goblin,’ collaborated to improve the perfection.
