
BTS has maintained its top spot on Billboard’s main singles chart ‘Hot 100′ for 10 weeks in a row. As a result, BTS songs topped the chart, a total of 15 times. US Billboard posted an article on its official website on August 2nd. The articles said, “BTS’ digital single ‘Butter’ topped the ninth ‘Hot 100’ in the latest chart (as of August 7).”
As a result, ‘Butter’ surpassed Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License,’ which topped the ‘Hot 100’ for 8 weeks from January to March. It makes ‘Butter’ topped the ‘Hot 100’ chart the most this year. BTS entered the chart on June 5th with ‘Butter’ and went straight to #1 on the Hot 100. They stayed on the top spot for 7 weeks in a row.

BTS proved its hot popularity and strong influence in the US. They are maintaining their top position for 10 weeks with two songs on the ‘Hot 100’ chart. This chart ranks the most popular songs in the US by synthesizing various figures such as streaming, radio broadcasts, and music sales. Particularly, ‘Butter’ topped the ‘Digital Song Sales’ chart for the 9th time.
Citing MRC data, Billboard said, “In the weekly count until July 29, ‘Butter’ sold 112,900 in the tracking week, and tallies a ninth week atop Digital Song Sales. The number of ‘Butter’ streams in the US recorded 8.1 million. Also, the number of radio listeners was 30.5 million.”

BTS topped the US Billboard Hot 100 list for the first time with ‘Dynamite’ last year. Since then, BTS songs topped the list of ‘Hot 100’ 15 times, with ‘Savage Love’ remix version (1 time), ‘Life Goes On’ (1 time), ‘Dynamite (3 times), ‘Butter’ (9 times), and ‘Permission to Dance’ (1 time).
BTS is making history on US Billboard. They set a record for the shortest time since Michael Jackson (9 months and 2 weeks) between 1987 and 1988 with five songs in 10 months and two weeks. While, non-individual groups remained at number one on the ‘Hot 100’ chart for more than seven weeks.
