BTS will return with the English lyrics song ‘Butter’ on the 21st of May.
According to the agency Big Hit Music on the 27th of April, BTS will simultaneously release a new digital single ‘Butter’ worldwide on the 21st of next month.
The agency said that “‘Butter’ is an exciting and cheerful summer song. It is a song that lets you feel the soft yet charismatic charm of BTS in an exciting and cheerful atmosphere based on dance-pop.”
In the announcement of the ARMY (fan club) community platform in Weverse, ‘It is a song that embodies the charm of BTS that will melt like butter into your daily life.”
Besides, the agency announced that they would be releasing physical albums containing ‘Butter’ both locally and abroad this summer.
In fact, ‘Butter’ is the second English song by BTS. It followed ‘Dynamite,’ which BTS released as a digital single last August.
BTS reached the top of the English-speaking pop market with ‘Dynamite’ being a popular hit in North America.
‘Dynamite,’ a reinterpretation of disco, was the first Korean song to take first place in the Billboard main single chart ‘Hot 100’ three times. It really marked the history of popular music.
The song stayed on the chart for 32 weeks, setting the record for the longest entry into Korean singers.
With ‘Dynamite,’ the group was nominated for the 63rd Grammy Awards ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. They held a solo performance at the awards ceremony.
The members have announced that they are preparing a new song for foreign media interviews. BTS Jin announced something in an interview with USA Today ahead of the Grammy awards ceremony last month. He said, “The members are making their own songs. We are meeting and preparing hard for songs that we will perform as a group. Please look forward to new things coming out in the future.”
BTS will warm up their comeback atmosphere with various events before and after the release of the new song.
Meanwhile, they will release ‘BTS MEAL’ in 49 countries on 6 continents from May to June. This is in partnership with McDonald’s, an American fast food company.
In addition, in Korea, four episodes of star entertainment PD Youngseok Na’s tvN ‘Fifteen Nights on a Business Trip’ and BTS’ own entertainment ‘Run BTS’ will air for two weeks from the 4th of next month.
