Following Suga, a member of the Kpop group BTS, RM and Jin also tested positive for COVID-19.
BIGHIT Music, the agency of BTS, announced on December 25 through the fan community platform Weverse, “BTS members RM and Jin tested positive with COVID-19 on the evening of December 25.”
This is a case of breakthrough infection following Suga, who tested positive while in self-quarantine after returning from the US earlier.
The agency said, “Upon his return, RM immediately went PCR testing, and he tested negative. But, before his release, he underwent PCR testing, and he tested positive for COVID-19.”
BIGHIT added, “Jin returned to Korea on December 6, underwent PCR testing, and tested negative. However, after feeling flu-like symptoms this afternoon, he underwent PCR testing and tested positive for COVID-19. He is exhibiting mild symptoms including high fever and is undergoing self-treatment at home.”
The two reportedly had no contact with other members after entering Korea.
