
Kpop group BTS received a nomination for the ‘BRIT Awards’ at the British Popular Music Awards for the second year in a row but failed to win the award.
BTS received a nomination for the international group category at the ‘BRIT Awards 2022’ held at O2 Arena in London on February 8 (UK time) but failed to win the award. The trophy went to Silk Sonic, a duo formed by Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak.
BTS has been nominated in the international group category for two years since last year. But, they haven’t tasted the joy of winning. However, following the first Korean nomination, they left the record of receiving a nomination for two years in a row.
This year, Adele swept three major awards: Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
The Brit Awards, which started in 1977, is an awards ceremony, hosted by the British Record Industry Association. They select the nominees for the award by votes of panels of more than 1,000 radio and TV DJs and hosts, broadcasting company executives, record producer representatives, and journalists. The International Category Award for which BTS received a nomination started in the late 1980s.
