BTS ‘Butter’ music video surpassed 100 million views in 21 hours and made a new history.
BTS’s new digital single ‘Butter’ music video, released worldwide at 1 pm on May 21st (Korean time), exceeded 100 million views around 9:56 am on May 22nd. As a result, BTS set its own record for having the most number of views among Korean singers. They are now holding their 33rd music video with billions of views.
On May 22nd, YouTube said through an official blog, “The music video for ‘Butter’ reached the record number of viewers of YouTube Premiere music video. It achieves the maximum number of concurrent users exceeding 3.9 million during its first release.”
As a result, BTS broke the record of 3 million simultaneous users, which they set at the time of the first release of ‘Dynamite.’
Also, they held the first and second highest YouTube premier music video viewing record at the same time. It only proves their status as the ’21st-century pop icon.’
The ‘Butter’ music video exceeded 10 million views in 13 minutes after its released. Then it goes up to 30 million views in 2 hours. After 6 hours, it recorded 50 million views. So, it easily surpassed the record set by ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year (110 million views in about 24 hours). ‘Butter’ achieved 100 million views in about 21 hours.
‘Butter’ is an exciting summer song containing the charm of BTS. It is a song with a bright and cheerful atmosphere based on dance-pop. Immediately after its release, Twitter announced the birth of another ‘mega-hit song.’
