
The group BTS topped the US Billboard’s main singles chart ‘Hot 100’ (as of June 12) for two weeks in a row with their new digital single ‘Butter.’
Billboard, a US music media, announced in an article posted on its official website on June 7th that BTS won the No. 1 spot on Hot 100 for 2 weeks with ‘Butter.’
Also, ‘Butter’ topped the digital song sales chart for two consecutive weeks.
‘Butter,’ released on May 21st, recorded 22.4 million radio listeners in the weekly tally until June 6. Billboard quoted Nielsen Music data saying, “That’s an increase of 24 percent from the previous weekly tally.”
According to Billboard, ‘Butter’ is the 23rd song to top the charts for two consecutive weeks, out of 54 songs that immediately topped the Hot 100.
It is BTS’s second consecutive top-ranked record of ‘Hot 100’ since ‘Dynamite’ last year. Also, BTS has topped the songs ‘Savage Love’ remix version and the album ‘BE’ title track ‘Life Goes On’ (one time each) and ‘Butter’ (two times).
BTS’s summer song ‘Butter’ is receiving enthusiastic responses in the United States and worldwide. On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming company, BTS recorded 20.9 million global streams on the first day of its release. So, they set a new record of ‘the largest number of global streams per day in the history of Spotify.’
The music video of ‘Butter’ exceeded 300 million views on YouTube as of June 4th, 14 days after its release.
