
The group BTS appeared on the popular American TV talk show ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ and unveiled the new song ‘Permission to Dance’ performance.
On July 14th (KST), BTS performed ‘Permission to Dance’ on NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’
BTS appeared again on the show after about a year and interviewed the host Jimmy Fallon.
BTS sang ‘Permission to Dance,’ released on July 9th in an indoor space filled with purple balloons. The members, who appeared in casual clothes, presented a group dance with full energy to the bright and cheerful melody. The performance, which combines hopeful lyrics, free-spirited choreography, and BTS’ happy expressions, delivered pleasant energy to the viewers. Using international sign language with the dancers in the second half of the song even added a deep resonance.
Also, BTS had an interview with host Jimmy Fallon through a video call. They talked about various stories, such as introducing the new song ‘Permission to Dance’ and the popularity of ‘Butter.’
‘Butter’ topped the Billboard ‘Hot 100’ for 7 weeks in a row. So, BTS shared how they felt about it and being nominated for the 63rd Grammy Awards.
Jimmy Fallon introduced the great achievements of ‘Butter.’
Jimmy said, “I have a feeling that ‘Butter’ will become ‘Song of the Summer.’ Did you expect this song to get such a good response?”
So, BTS replied, “The moment we heard ‘Butter,’ we thought it would be a song that would hit the hot summer.”
Jimmy also asked how they felt about the nomination for the ‘Grammy Awards’ held in March. Then, BTS said, “The ‘Grammy Awards’ was an honor because it is the greatest honor for artists around the world. We’re very happy, and we’re grateful to those who loved our music.”
Then, BTS added, “The day when we can do a concert, we want to hear the shouts of the audience as soon as possible.” The members expressed their hopes for an offline performance soon.
