Overseas fans of the Kpop group BLACKPINK Lisa expressed their dissatisfaction with the agency YG Entertainment. Fans are claiming that ‘YG is treating Lisa differently.’
On October 5, BVLGARI CEO Jean-Christophe Babin explained on Instagram that “Lisa came to Europe, but unfortunately the agency did not want her to participate in the events due to COVID-19.”
BVLGARI is a brand where Lisa is acting as an ambassador.
Later, an overseas media reported an article on October 6 that “Lisa’s fans are claiming that YG Entertainment is neglecting Lisa.”
Some fans pointed out that while other members of BLACKPINK, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo attended the brand event where they were ambassadors, Lisa stayed in Paris and did not attend. Fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the hashtag ‘Be Fair to Lisa (#BeFairToLISA)” and responded to a boycott for YG Entertainment.
However, there are also reactions that some fans’ claims are speculative. The event held at that time was an underwear (lingerie) fashion show, which BVLGARI conducted in collaboration. Moreover, it is argued that the event took place in Milan, Italy, not Paris. So, it was an event that Lisa did not need to attend. In this regard, YG Entertainment has not announced any specific position about the issue.
Recently, Kpop group BLACKPINK Lisa released her first solo album, ‘LALISA,’ on September 10.
