Vocal group 2AM will be making a comeback as whole after 7 years.
According to the music industry on May 20th, the management companies of the four members Jo Kwon, Changmin, Seulong Lim, and Jinwoon Jeong, are positively discussing the release of 2AM’s new album. Although no specific work has started yet, it aims to release the album in the fall as a ballad group.
Particularly, the album is attracting attention as it is expected that Jihyun Jun’s agency, Culture Depot, will participate in it, not a music agency. Starting with the 2AM album, some predict that she will participate in the album production in earnest.
2AM debuted in 2008 as a group co-planned with 2PM by producer Jinyoung Park, the head of JYP Entertainment. 2AM was the concept of presenting quiet ballad music. At the same time, 2PM was the concept of presenting dynamic dance music. 2AM’s management is Big Hit Entertainment (currently HYBE), led by Chairman Sihyuk Bang. In contrast, JYP is responsible for managing 2PM.
Since then, 2AM has risen to the ranks of popular groups with their hit songs. This includes ‘This Song,’ ‘Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die,’ ‘You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls,’ and ‘I Wonder If Hurt Like Me.’ The last album of the entire group is ‘Let’s Talk,’ which is their third full-length album released in October 2014.
